Through generous grants from the Richard and Rhoda Goldman Fund and the Boeing Company, EWB-USA has additional funds to distribute to projects this winter. Following are the funding areas set by these organizations:

  • Goldman – Latin America drinking water projects (includes Central America, South America, and the Caribbean)
  • Boeing – Africa water, sanitation and renewable energy projects; Asia renewable energy projects

Deadline for submission: Friday, December 19, 2008
Grant decisions will be made and funds distributed by January 16, 2009

To give applicants an idea of what the Grants Committee is looking for in determining successful applicants, following is a general list of criteria:

  • Does the chapter meet all the eligibility requirements stated on the application form?
  • Is the application complete, with all questions answered and requested attachments included?
  • Does the project fully engage the community as a partner?
  • Does the project appear thoughtful and sustainable in its approach to the community problem?
  • How much money has been raised so far? Does the chapter have multiple funding streams and/or plans for fundraising besides this grant?
  • How have they engaged other partners on the project?

The Grants Committee may consider other criteria based on the priorities of the funders and the needs of the community.

  • Download the application, including guidelines for eligibility.
  • Please note new eligibility requirement: All Chapters must have submitted their 2007-08 Annual Report Survey to be considered for grant funding.
